IT'S TIME TO RALLY FOR NIGER!
WHAT is the Rally for Niger?
WHY should I participate in the 2022 Rally for Niger?
Your participation in the Rally for Niger will provide scholarships for girls to attend school in Niger. Only about 9% of girls in Niger attend secondary school. For girls who are educated beyond primary school, the likelihood of an early marriage is reduced significantly. Furthermore, the longer a girl stays in school, the less likely she is to be married before the age of 18. With pregnancy and childbirth before the age of 18 leading to a number of complications, including both maternal and infant mortality, there are numerous reasons to encourage girls to stay in school.
HOW can I participate?
• MICHIGAN RALLY
Sunrise Ministries • October 15
• MINNESOTA RALLY
North Presbyterian Church • October 16
Between Worship Services – writing cards/letters to girls in Niger • After 2nd Service (11:45) – 2-mile or 4-mile walk (starting and ending at North Church)
If you aren’t walking, you can still donate to the Rally and participate in the
letter writing. Best of all, your donation will be matched dollar for dollar from a
generous matching gift!
Remember Niger has a $10,000 goal. Our North Church goal is to raise $1,000 that
will provide much-needed scholarships for girls to attend secondary school in Niger.
